Replacing the DVD combo drive
The DVD combo drive is not hot-swappable. You must power down the
system to replace the DVD combo drive.
Requirements
You need a Phillips (cross head) screwdriver, #1 and #2 bit.
To replace the DVD combo drive
1 Power down the server, unplug all peripheral devices and Ethernet
cables, and disconnect the AC power.
2 Remove the front bezel. Refer to “Removing and replacing the front
bezel” on page 106.
3 Attach the ESD strap to your wrist and attach the other end to a
known grounded connection.
4 Remove the chassis cover. Refer to “Removing and replacing the
server cover” on page 108 for instructions.
5 Pull out on the drive carrier handle (A) as shown in the following
diagram.
